OSG, in partnership with major aerospace and defense companies, has developed the tools, strategic and operational
know-how, and long-standing industry expertise assist organizations:
- Streamline services and operations to overcome growing cost pressures
- Expand production capacity while simultaneously reducing delivery times
- Reduce R&D cycle time and time to market for new product development
- Build quality and speed into the design and production processes
Through the use of our LeanViewTM Value Stream Mapping & Analysis tool, which was developed in conjunction with major
defense contractors and Lean Manufacturing consultants, we are able to visualize, refine and implement solutions
through collaborative engagements with stakeholders. Our methods significantly enhance the effectiveness and efficiencies of our customers' organizations.
Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Navy are a few of several customers that rely on our Business Process Improvement solutions.
Through the use of SimEstimatorTM, OSG's own Project Risk analysis tool, developed through collaboration with industry leaders,
we are able to help defense and aerospace organizations better plan and prepare
for project launch and execution through the use of Monte-Carlo simulation depicting worst, likely and best case scenarios. This methodology allows for
greater confidence in project completion and cost projections.

| Case 1: Multi-Program MRO Process Consolidation at Lockheed-Martin™ |
|
Lockheed-Martin, a leading Defense contractor, engaged the Orlando Software Group to determine the feasibility of consolidating it's Material Repair
Operations (MRO) for the Longbow TADS and Fire Control Radar Programs. Utilizing LeanView's unique capabilities, we were able to successfully map
the current state processes of both programs and identify areas of opportunity and provide critical process data for analysis within a few hours. We then utilized these
areas of opportunity to produce a model for the ideal future combined operations from both programs, and provide data to determine feasibility before costly investments
were made. This allowed Lockheed-Martin to visualize and correct areas of potential bottlenecks before implementing a combined repair organization. The result will be
higher quality, more efficient and less costly repairs of parts in addition to much quicker turn-around for battlefield repairs. We were then able to export all data, seamlessly, into standard work output
in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, saving practitioners many hours of report preparation and calculations. LeanView's automated project plan creation mechanism exported Kaizen events, Opportunities and JDI's from the value stream data collected
directly to a project plan with cost and resource utilization data, providing managers with insight into execution after the lean events.
